RINGLING BROS. AND BARNUM & BAILEY PRESENTS ZING, ZANG, ZOOM

The mystery of magic and the mastery of skill will leave audiences spellbound as Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey presents Zing, Zang, Zoom, a mind-blowing circus spectacular where family fun is no illusion. Magical Zingmaster Alex and his assistant, the alluring Levitytia, lead audiences through a kaleidoscope of color and imagery that reveal extraordinary worlds of fantasy and phenomena that celebrate the uplifting spirit of the circus and also ward off a cynical Mr. Gravity and his team of Heavies who try to bring everyone down.

This summer’s production will be in Houston from July 7-25 and features an all-new lush green garden oasis that is definitely not an illusion. Plan to come one and one half hours before show time to tour the Animal Open House. Meet the performers and animals. This event is free to all ticket holders.

Ticket prices range from $16-$125.

To purchase tickets, go to www.Ringling.com, or contact Ticketmaster or the Reliant Stadium box office.

THE MUSIC MAN,

BEGINNING JULY 16

Houston’s Center Stage Theater presents The Music Man in the Berry Center from July 16-25 for seven performances.

This is one of America’s perennial favorite musicals and it follows the fast-talking traveling salesman Harold Hill as he cons the people of River City, Iowa, into buying instruments and uniforms for a boys band he vows to organize—this despite the fact he does not know a trombone from a treble clef. His plans to skip town with the cash are foiled when he falls for Marian, the librarian, who transforms him into a respectable citizen by curtain’s fall.

The Music Man comes complete with quirky characters, charmingly predicable dramatic situations and a one-of-a-kind, nostalgic score of rousing marches, barbershop quartets and sentimental ballads, which have become popular standards.
