CFISD GRADUATES APPOINTED TO SERVICE ACADEMIES

Seven CFISD graduating seniors have received appointments to attend United States service academies.

Cy-Fair High School had three appointments: James Richie and Cira Wolf were appointed to the U.S. Military Academy in West Point, N.Y.; and Madison Falvey was appointed to the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md.

“Cy-Fair High School is extremely proud of all three of our graduates from the Class of 2016 who have earned appointments to the nation’s military academies,” said Mike Smith, Cy-Fair principal. “Character, honesty, hard work, leadership and perseverance are just a few of the characteristics that all three of these outstanding graduates possess. These are the characteristics that have earned them appointments into these very prestigious learning academies, and it is these characteristics that will help them succeed in all aspects of their lives. They truly live by our motto: Bobcat Fight Never Dies!”

Cypress Ranch High School graduate Tanner West was appointed to the U.S. Naval Academy.

“Cypress Ranch is extremely excited and proud of Tanner and his appointment to the United States Naval Academy,” said Bob Hull, Cypress Ranch principal. “Tanner has exemplified the strong academic prowess necessary to be successful at such a storied institution.”

Cypress Woods High School graduate Ebakoliane Obiomon was appointed to the U.S. Military Academy.

“Once again, we are so honored at Cy Woods to have a Wildcat receive an appointment to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point,” said Gary Kinninger, Cypress Woods principal. “Eba’s appointment is the third in line of two older siblings who have received the same appointment. Assuredly, the Obiomon family stands proud of their children, as well as we do at Cy Woods. The entire Cypress Woods community awaits the phenomenal achievements that lie ahead of Eba. Congratulations!”

Langham Creek High School graduate Cian McConnell was appointed to the U.S. Naval Academy.

“Langham Creek High School congratulates Cian McConnell on his appointment to the United States Naval Academy,” said David Hughes, Langham Creek principal. “Cian is an excellent student and athlete who excels in gymnastics. Gaining admission to one of the United States service academies is a huge accomplishment that requires years of dedication, discipline and excellence. The Langham Creek community is proud of Cian and wishes him the best for the future.”

Jersey Village High School graduate Christopher Onorato was appointed to the U.S. Military Academy.

“Jersey Village High School is honored to have been able to be a partner in the development of Christopher Onorato, and we are extremely proud of his appointment to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point,” said Ralph Funk, Jersey Village principal. “Chris exemplifies the characteristics we desire in all of our students. His leadership, scholarship and desire to serve our country reinforces my faith in the future of our great nation. Everyone at Jersey Village wishes Chris the best as he begins a new chapter in his life.”
